At TabLens, we believe that your browsing habits are a reflection of your mind. We built TabLens to help you manage your cognitive load, not to exploit your attention. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and how we protect your digital workspace.

The Short Version
We track domain-level metadata and user activity to calculate your Tab Debt. We strictly adhere to Google Chrome Web Store Developer Policies, meaning we DO NOT sell your data, read your keystrokes, or inject advertisements. Period.

1. What We Collect and Why

To facilitate the features of our Cognitive Load Manager, we process the following categories of user data:

  • Web History & Tab Metadata: Domain-level URLs, page titles, and timestamps. This data is required to calculate your Tab Debt score, populate your personal analytics dashboard, and generate your Friday weekly digest.
  • User Activity & State Data: Active, idle, or pinned tab states, and the duration spent on domains. This parameters allow our Smart Triage assistant to identify tabs untouched for over 2 hours and measure your peak focus hours.
  • Website Content: Basic page titles and metadata indicators used strictly for our AI auto-categorization engine to classify active workspaces into logical buckets (e.g., Work, Research, Social).
  • Account Data: Your email address and encrypted password, which are used solely for account authentication, subscription management, and secure cross-device synchronization.

2. Chrome Web Store Policy Compliance (Limited Use)

Our data practices strictly comply with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, specifically the Limited Use requirements:

  • No Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer your personal data, web history, or user activity to third parties, advertising networks, or data brokers under any circumstances.
  • Purpose Limitation: The transfer and use of your data are strictly limited to providing and improving the core features of the TabLens extension (such as tab cleanups, workspace syncing, and focus score trends).
  • No Credit Evaluation: We do not use or transfer user data to evaluate creditworthiness, determine lending qualifications, or for any related financial risk scoring.

3. What We DO NOT Collect

  • We do not log or track your keystrokes, personal credentials, form inputs, or passwords.
  • We do not inspect, parse, or store the actual body content or personal communications inside the web pages you visit.
  • We do not inject advertisements, track cookies outside your tab management system, or monetize your attention.

4. Data Deletion & Security

Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. You retain full control over your digital footprint. You can delete your account and all associated browsing history at any time from the Settings page. Upon requesting deletion, your data is permanently and irreversibly purged from our cloud servers within 30 days.
